About James
His adventure starts with the creation of the Wetfish ensemble (1996-2002), with whom he revisits all the classics of silent movies.
Inspired by the experience, he multiplies collaborations and
exchanges with industry professionals and, with his endearing
personality James managed to open many doors for himself.
His portfolio of short films and documentaries featuring his
music counts over 50 titles to this day.
He is playing with the Globe-Glotters ensemble, for which he
is composing electro acoustic pieces.
James Duhamel has earned his undergraduate degree at
University of Montreal with Jean Piché and Robert Normandeau.
His sound signature can be lyrical and chaos-driven while
being more enigmatic at times; he is inspired by musical landscapes and
creates mixed or electro acoustic pieces.
In conjunction with his composition activities, he has also
signed the sound conception and mixing of many documentaries and
television series.

- 2008 finalist at the 5th International Competition of Electro Acoustic Miniatures with the piece "Mimik".
- 2006 finalist at Bourges Festival with the piece "Le Radeau".
- 1st prize at the Canadian Competition JTTP 2005 with the piece "Le Radeau".
- Travel Grant in 2004 and 2005 from the Office Franco-Québécois pour la Jeunesse.
- Composition residency at the 9th and 10th edition of the Festival Résonances.
- Youth International Development Project grant in 2003 (Canadian Heritage).
- Composition residency at the Technological Arts Society in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
